Friends

Kyle and I moved from Lubbock, Texas to Dallas almost 5 years ago. WOW, it does not seem that long ago. Along the way God has placed friends in our lives. For the next few days I am going to post about the friends that mean the most to me and why. Probably because I don't have anything to really blog about and because I want to.

Today I will start with the obvious:

KYLE
Kyle and I met my first semester at Texas Tech. We were in a bible study called Experiencing God together. I think there was like eight of us that consistently met. We would all discuss what God was doing in our lives and pray for each other. I actually still have the book that we were doing and there are prayer requests that he had given me written in the book. I was a new Christian and was not at all interested in dating and really had no desire to even look at boys. So I did not realize Kyle was in the class. A few months went by after the bible study was over and I saw Kyle again at a basketball game and asked one of my friends who he was. She said sarcastically that his name was Kyle and that we were with him in a bible study for three months. I did not remember him at all. A few more months went by and my attraction to him got stronger and stronger. I told one of my roommates that I thought he was cute. She was dating Kyle's best friend at the time and we decided to come up with a plan to have Kyle come over and have a blind double date (Kyle would be the blind one here). So we did and fireworks went off. I knew instantly that there was something there. Kyle and I had our first date May 1, 2002. We had a great month of dating and then Kyle went to Romania for almost three weeks. I knew I loved him before he left, but of course did not say anything. He said that he would call when he could. So everyday I would listen to the answering machine hoping that he would call. One day he finally did and left me a message that I kept and listened to everyday until he got back. Once he got back things were totally awesome. Kyle told me that he loved me three months later. We were engaged February 14, 2003 and got married December 6, 2003.
I thank God everyday that he placed Kyle in my life. God answered every prayer that I prayed through Kyle. He laughs at me when I am being silly and comforts me when I am sad. Kyle is a man of God and he shows it everyday with the life that he leads. He makes me want to be a better woman of God everyday. He is my best friend! He watches girly movies with me and loves to cuddle on the couch. He takes care of my car so that I don't have to. He loves to be goofy with me and make me laugh. I love his heart and how his eyes light up when I come in the room. I know to some people these things are small but to me they are huge. One of the things that I love the most about Kyle is that he loves me no matter what. It does not matter what kind of mood I am in, how I look, what happened in his day, he loves me. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us!
