Baby Update!

Kyle and I had tons of Dr. appointments today. Our first stop was to get an ultrasound to see how big Hunter is. Kyle guessed that he was 6 1/2 pounds, I guessed 7 pounds and the Dr. guessed 7 pounds 2 ounces. Well Hunter weighs 6 pounds 9 ounces! So Kyle one the bet! Most importantly the Dr. said that Hunter looks great and my amniotic fluid is perfect.

Our second stop was to get all of the pre-admission paper work completed and the hospital consents signed. Medical City Dallas has a really good system for pre-admission. They put all of your information into a computer and have you sign consents ahead of time and then put all of that in a folder. So, once you get to the hospital in labor you will not have to fill all that paper work out. Pretty clever!

Our third and last stop was to our OBGYN. He checked me and said that I am 2 cm dilated and possibly might be 3 cm dilated and the baby is more fixed than he was last week. So he gave Kyle and I the option to be induced. The earliest he said would be August 27th. Kyle and I are both hesitant to inducing. I have heard that induction stinks and when it is time for the baby to come then he will come. However, I am getting more partial to being induced mostly because all Hunter is doing now is putting on more weight. So the more he cooks the harder I have to work to get him out. I go back to the Dr. next Tuesday and if I am progressing more then maybe Hunter will come on his own and we will not have to worry about inducing or not.

So that was our day in a nut shell. Lots to ponder!

More exciting news, I GRADUATE ON FRIDAY WITH MY MASTERS!!!!!! Hunter and I are going to walk! We are very excited!

I'm glad everything looked good today. Sounds like Hunter is getting ready for his arrival. I hope you can just wait for him to come since induction doesn't sound like a lot of fun. We're praying for you!

How exciting! Wouldn't it be crazy if you went into labor at your graduation?!?!?! What a story to tell!

Not that you're asking for opinions... But :)... if you've started dilating on your own already, I bet he'll come all by himself. I'd hold off on plans to induce. I know I induced all 3 times but I never dilated on my own with any of them. Sounds like you're making good progress without any help.

Congrats on graduation!!
